Facebook has rolled out a game-changing feature that promises to be the easiest path yet for users to earn money online, Meta announced today. Targeting creators already enrolled in its content monetisation programme, the social media giant now allows revenue generation from public story views—a move set to reshape how Pakistanis and global users cash in on their digital presence.
Launched on March 16, 2025, per a Meta press release, this feature lets creators monetise stories—those fleeting 24-hour posts—without a minimum view threshold. “If you share a makeup tutorial or a Karachi street food reel as a story, you can now earn from its views,” a Meta spokesperson explained, highlighting its simplicity. Unlike previous models tied to video ads or subscriptions, earnings hinge on content performance, making it accessible for anyone with engaging posts.
For Pakistan’s 40 million-plus Facebook users, this could unlock new income streams. Creators like Lahore-based vlogger Ayesha Khan see it as a boon: “Stories are quick to make—I can now profit from daily updates.” Meta’s move builds on its three-billion-user base, dwarfing Instagram and TikTok, to keep creators hooked on the platform.
Eligible users—those in the monetisation programme—gain this perk automatically, no extra steps needed. Newcomers can apply via Facebook’s monetisation site, with Meta planning a broader rollout later in 2025. “It’s about boosting content creation,” the company stated, echoing posts on X praising the no-view-minimum approach.
As Pakistan’s digital economy grows, this feature could empower small creators, though success depends on crafting stories that captivate.
