Islamabad, March 30, 2025 – On the eve of Eid ul Fitr, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm greetings to the people of Pakistan, emphasizing the values of gratitude, unity, and compassion. In their messages, the leaders called on citizens to reflect on the spirit of Ramadan and support those in need during the festive season.
President Zardari, in his address, underscored the importance of Zakat, charity, and Fitrana as essential acts of faith that bring joy to the less fortunate. “Eid is a divine reward for a month of patience and devotion,” he said. “True happiness lies in sharing with those who are struggling.” He urged the nation to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and contribute to Pakistan’s development, while also offering prayers for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, hoping they could celebrate Eid in peace and freedom.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the challenges Pakistan faces from internal divisions and external threats. He called for collective action to combat extremism, hatred, and sectarianism, which he described as critical to ensuring the country’s stability. “National unity is our strength,” he said, paying tribute to the armed forces for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He also honored the families of martyrs, including those affected by the recent Jaffar Express train incident.
Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Palestine and Kashmir, urging global leaders to address ongoing human rights violations in these regions. “As we celebrate Eid, let us stand with the oppressed,” he added.
As the nation prepares for Eid festivities, both leaders encouraged Pakistanis to embody the occasion’s spirit by fostering love, compassion, and unity, ensuring a brighter future for all citizens.
