In a significant step to enhance the experience of millions of Muslims embarking on the sacred Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has introduced a digital guidebook for the 2025 season, scheduled for early June. The “Hajj Rituals Smart Guide” is designed to provide comprehensive support to pilgrims, offering detailed instructions in six languages: Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Malayalam, and Turkish.
This innovative resource is accessible through digital platforms, including mosque libraries across the kingdom and on Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national airline, ensuring pilgrims can familiarize themselves with the pilgrimage’s rituals during their journey. The guide aims to simplify the complex procedures of Hajj, making them more accessible to a diverse global audience.
The initiative was announced by Sheikh Abdullatif Al Al Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, during a planning session in Mecca, the spiritual heart of Islam. The minister, who leads the Supreme Committee for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Affairs, emphasized the guide’s role in fostering a deeper understanding of the pilgrimage’s spiritual and logistical requirements.
For Hajj 2025, Saudi Arabia is enhancing the pilgrimage experience for an estimated 1.8 million attendees, including 1.5 million international pilgrims. Upgrades include improved mosque facilities along key routes, expanded multilingual translation services at entry points, and awareness campaigns to educate pilgrims. These measures underscore the Kingdom’s dedication to ensuring a seamless and inclusive journey, building on last year’s success while prioritizing comfort, accessibility, and spiritual fulfillment for all.
Hajj, a sacred Islamic pillar, mandates Muslims to pilgrimage to Mecca once in their lifetime. Saudi Arabia’s smart guide integrates technology, enhancing accessibility and honoring the global Muslim community’s diversity while upholding this spiritual obligation.
