Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, describing it as a “cowardly act” that will not deter Pakistan’s resolve to maintain peace. The deadly assault, which occurred on Tuesday in the Dhadar area of Bolan Pass, claimed the lives of innocent passengers and left the nation reeling in shock and grief.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, PM Sharif expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended his condolences to the victims’ families. “The entire nation is deeply shocked by this dastardly act and saddened by the loss of innocent lives,” he wrote. “I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray that Allah grants them the highest ranks in Jannah. I also wish a swift recovery to the injured.” PM Shehbaz Sharif Condemns Jaffar Express Attack,
The Prime Minister revealed that he had spoken with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, who provided an update on the situation following the attack. He also announced that security forces had successfully neutralized the terrorists responsible, stating, “Dozens of the terrorists have been sent to hell,” as operations continue to ensure the region’s safety.
The Jaffar Express, carrying over 400 passengers across nine bogies, was en route from Quetta to Peshawar when it was ambushed. The attack prompted an immediate response from security forces, leading to a clearance operation in the area. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, all 33 terrorists involved in the attack were eliminated. However, the operation came at a heavy cost, with four Frontier Corps personnel losing their lives. “Four Frontier Corps personnel embraced martyrdom during the clearance operation,” Chaudhry confirmed on Wednesday.
The attack has drawn widespread condemnation, with the Prime Minister reaffirming the government’s commitment to rooting out terrorism. “Such acts of violence will not weaken Pakistan’s determination to establish lasting peace,” Sharif asserted, signaling a firm stance against those seeking to destabilize the country.
As investigations continue, authorities are working to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent future incidents. The nation mourns the loss of lives, while security forces remain on high alert to counter any further threats.
