The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a fresh initiative to reward high-performing officers of the Pakistan Customs Service, specifically those in Grade 17 and higher, according to a recent announcement.
The policy, enacted through amendments to the Customs Act, 1969, under Sections 210 and 20213, revises a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) originally issued on November 26, 2012. The updated regulations now include a new sub-rule (3) under Rule 3, designed to align financial incentives with individual performance.
As per the new framework, senior customs officers will receive monetary rewards based on evaluations conducted through the FBR’s performance management system and its Transformation Plan. This move aims to boost efficiency and motivation among top-tier customs officials, fostering a results-driven culture within the organization.
The FBR emphasized that the initiative reflects its commitment to modernizing operations and recognizing excellence in service delivery.
