The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an inquiry under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) against actress and model Nadia Hussain following her social media accusations of bribery against an alleged FIA officer. Today Pakistan News reports that the FIA Cyber Crime Team raided Hussain’s Karachi residence on Friday, March 14, 2025, amid escalating tensions over the incident.
FIA officials clarified that the accused individual was not an agency staff member but a fraudster who impersonated an officer, using a stolen profile picture to demand a bribe from Hussain. Authorities informed her that the scammer, traced to Vehari, would soon be arrested and urged her to report the matter to the Cyber Crime Reporting Center in Karachi. Instead, Hussain opted to air her grievances publicly on social media, a move now under scrutiny.
Spreading unverified claims online is a punishable offense under PECA, prompting the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing to investigate. “No one should be permitted to disseminate baseless propaganda without proof,” an FIA spokesperson stated, emphasizing that Hussain’s statements misrepresented facts and risked tarnishing the agency’s reputation—a serious breach of law.
The controversy follows the FIA Corporate Crime Circle’s arrest of Hussain’s husband, Atif Mohammad Khan, on March 8, 2025, for his alleged role in a Rs540 million embezzlement scheme as former CEO of Bank Alfalah Securities. Khan faces charges of financial fraud and abuse of authority, intensifying public and legal scrutiny on the couple.
