Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has declared an uncompromising stance against terrorism, vowing to eliminate all threats to Pakistan’s stability during the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The high-level meeting, convened on Friday, focused on a detailed evaluation of the country’s security landscape, emerging challenges, and a unified strategy to counter destabilizing forces, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The conference underscored Pakistan’s resolve to uproot terrorism in all its forms, with a particular emphasis on thwarting foreign-sponsored proxies and their domestic collaborators. General Munir emphasized that those facilitating hostile elements—whether through direct support or illicit economic activities—would face the full might of the state. “There is no room for terrorists or their enablers in Pakistan,” he asserted, signaling a no-nonsense approach to national security.
A significant portion of the discussion centered on Balochistan, where the military reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding peace. The forum condemned efforts by external forces and their local proxies, including politically motivated factions, to undermine the province’s stability for personal gain. “The people of Balochistan stand united with the armed forces to defeat these sinister designs,” the ISPR statement noted, promising decisive action against those stoking chaos.
The implementation of Vision Azm-e-Istehkam, a key pillar of the National Action Plan (NAP), was hailed as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. General Munir praised the establishment of District Coordination Committees nationwide, urging seamless collaboration between institutions to enforce the rule of law. He stressed that the Pakistan Army would back law enforcement agencies in cracking down on illegal economies fueling terrorism, leaving no stone unturned.
On the international front, the forum voiced alarm over ongoing human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and repeated ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause was reiterated, with a call for global attention to India’s actions. Similarly, the military expressed solidarity with Palestinians, denouncing the atrocities in Gaza as war crimes.
In his closing remarks, General Munir directed field commanders to maintain peak combat readiness through rigorous training, ensuring the armed forces remain a formidable shield against all threats. As Pakistan navigates complex regional dynamics, the message was clear: stability and sovereignty are non-negotiable.
