A powerful display of national pride unfolded as a 31-gun salute thundered in the capital, Islamabad, while 21-gun salutes reverberated across provincial capitals, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. In Karachi, a moving change of guard ceremony took place at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, while Lahore hosted a similar tribute at Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s mausoleum. Floral wreaths were laid at Yadgar-e-Shuhada monuments nationwide, honoring the martyrs’ ultimate sacrifices.
In Lahore, workers from the Clean City Labour Union gathered at the Lahore Press Club, holding a vibrant demonstration to celebrate the armed forces’ achievements. Meanwhile, local governments and military officials made personal visits to the families of martyrs, offering condolences and recognizing their invaluable contributions to the nation’s defense.
The centerpiece of the day’s events is set for tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead a grand ceremony. Joined by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of Army Staff, the event will celebrate the collective resolve of the nation and its defenders.
