Islamabad, May 8, 2025 — Pakistan has categorically dismissed allegations from Indian media and officials claiming Pakistani missile strikes on multiple Indian locations, labeling the accusations as “fabricated” and “politically driven.” In a strongly worded press briefing, Pakistani military and civilian leadership vowed a resolute response to any aggression while urging calm among citizens.
Military Rebuts Indian Narrative
Major General Asif Malik, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), addressed the media alongside Foreign Minister Bilal Khan, refuting India’s claims of Pakistani strikes on 17 targets. “These allegations are a complete fiction,” Malik stated. “Missile launches leave undeniable evidence—radar tracks, impact craters, wreckage. Where is India’s proof? Their story is a poorly scripted drama.”
Malik pointed to inconsistencies in India’s account, noting that satellite imagery and border surveillance systems showed no signs of the alleged attacks. He sarcastically remarked, “If India insists on showcasing empty fields as evidence, they might consider hiring better set designers.”
The ISPR chief revealed that Pakistan’s air defense systems detected three projectiles launched from Indian territory near Pathankot. One was neutralized over Pakistani airspace in Sialkot, with debris currently under analysis. The other two reportedly malfunctioned and landed in Indian Punjab, causing minor damage. “India’s own errors are being spun into a tale of Pakistani aggression,” Malik said.
He emphasized Pakistan’s military preparedness, stating, “Our forces are on high alert. Any hostile move will meet a response that will echo across borders—no need for Indian headlines to confirm it.”
Foreign Minister Accuses India of Divisive Tactics
Foreign Minister Bilal Khan accused India’s government of orchestrating the crisis to distract from domestic challenges. “This is a calculated move to inflame tensions and polarize communities, particularly in Indian Punjab,” he said. Khan suggested the allegations were designed to stoke anti-Pakistan sentiment and marginalize India’s Sikh population.
“Pakistan shares deep ties with the people of Indian Punjab. We have no interest in actions that harm civilians,” Khan affirmed. He cited recent incidents, including an Indian drone incursion near Lahore that was shot down after targeting a civilian market, as evidence of India’s “reckless provocations.”
Khan also referenced a separate drone attack on a sports facility in Multan, which injured two civilians. “These are not accidents but deliberate attempts to destabilize Pakistan,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s restraint should not be mistaken for weakness.
Call for International Scrutiny
The foreign minister called on the international community to scrutinize India’s claims and investigate the projectiles’ origins. “We invite independent experts to examine the debris in Sialkot. The truth will expose India’s narrative,” he said.
Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace but warned, “Our patience has limits. Any further violations of our sovereignty will trigger a response at a time and place of our choosing.”
Public Urged to Remain Calm
Both officials urged citizens to avoid panic and trust in Pakistan’s defense capabilities. “Our armed forces have proven their mettle, from downing enemy aircraft to neutralizing drones,” Malik said, referencing past confrontations. “The nation is secure.”
The press conference comes amid heightened tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), with both sides accusing each other of ceasefire violations. Pakistan’s leadership stressed that dialogue remains the preferred path but warned that provocations would not go unanswered.
