Islamabad, May 9, 2025 — In a strongly worded press conference, Pakistan’s military leadership questioned India’s swift accusations following a recent flare-up along the Line of Control (LoC), accusing New Delhi of orchestrating a narrative to mask its own domestic challenges.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, ISPR Director General, led a briefing in Islamabad with senior Pakistan Air Force and Navy officials, addressing key security and strategic matters.. The trio addressed international media, highlighting concerns over what they described as India’s pattern of hasty and unsubstantiated claims.
“How can a government pinpoint culprits in mere minutes?” Lt Gen Chaudhry asked, referencing India’s rapid response to the latest incident. “This rush to judgment is not only suspicious but suggests a premeditated effort to shift focus from India’s internal struggles.”
The Pakistani military accused Indian forces of escalating tensions through unprovoked actions, including alleged attacks on civilian populations near the border. “These acts of aggression target innocent lives, including women and children,” Chaudhry stated, calling for global attention to the humanitarian toll.
While reaffirming Pakistan’s desire for regional stability, the military officials issued a stern warning against further provocations. Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), affirmed readiness to defend sovereignty while urging restraint and dialogue to de-escalate tensions and prevent further conflict.
The press conference comes amid heightened alertness along the LoC, with both nations bolstering their military presence. Pakistan’s leadership called on international mediators to scrutinize the situation and promote de-escalation.
As tensions simmer, analysts warn that the fragile balance in the region could deteriorate without diplomatic intervention. The international community continues to monitor developments closely.
