In a series of strategic operations across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan’s security forces eliminated eight militants while losing one soldier in the line of duty, military sources reported on Monday.
The operations, guided by precise intelligence, targeted militant strongholds in the districts of North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Khyber, and Bannu. In Mir Ali, North Waziristan, security forces engaged a group of militants, neutralizing three in a swift confrontation. A separate mission in South Waziristan resulted in the elimination of two additional insurgents.
Tragically, Naik Mujahid Khan, a 40-year-old soldier from Kohat, was martyred during the intense firefight. Described as a courageous defender of the nation, his sacrifice underscores the high cost of maintaining peace in the region.
Further operations in Khyber and Bannu districts led to the deaths of three more militants. Security forces recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, linking the insurgents to prior attacks on both military personnel and civilians.
Ongoing efforts to secure the areas continue, with forces conducting thorough sweeps to ensure no threats remain. The military reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that the bravery of soldiers like Naik Mujahid Khan strengthens their resolve to protect the nation.
