Pakistan’s IT industry hit a record $342 million in exports in March 2025, marking 18 months of growth, driven by global demand and supportive government policies latest figures from the Ministry of Information Technology. The sustained upward trajectory is credited to strategic government initiatives and the proactive efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). These measures have fostered a conducive environment for IT companies to thrive and expand their global reach.Pakistan’s IT exports soared to $2.8 billion in the first nine months of fiscal 2025, fueling optimism for surpassing future targets and strengthening the nation’s digital economy.
The government’s “Uraan Pakistan” initiative is at the heart of this success, aiming to catapult IT exports to $10 billion through a combination of currency stabilization, investor-friendly policies, and enhanced global marketing of Pakistani IT services. “The world is increasingly recognizing the talent and innovation of Pakistan’s IT professionals,” said a senior official from the Ministry of Information Technology. “Our firms are securing contracts across diverse markets, from North America to the Middle East.”
This record-breaking performance follows a robust 28% surge in IT exports just two months prior, when the sector recorded $1.86 billion. Commenting on the trend, Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, expressed optimism about the sector’s future, stating,With sustained policy backing and rising global demand, Pakistan’s IT exports are poised to reach unprecedented heights, driving economic growth and innovation in the coming years.
