Karachi, April 12, 2025 – A meticulously crafted security framework has been rolled out for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 matches at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi, which kicked off yesterday. Authorities have deployed an impressive contingent of 6,700 police personnel to safeguard players, officials, and fans throughout the tournament.
The security blueprint encompasses multiple layers of protection across key locations, including Karachi Airport, team hotels, travel routes, and the stadium itself. The Security Division is contributing 1,666 personnel, including 950 elite Special Security Unit (SSU) commandos and women commandos. Additionally, 1,390 Traffic Police officers, 328 Special Branch members, and District Police, alongside other law enforcement agencies, are ensuring comprehensive coverage.
To bolster safety, sharpshooters have been strategically positioned at vulnerable points, while a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team remains on high alert. The SWAT unit, stationed at SSU headquarters, will also conduct patrols around the stadium to address any potential emergencies swiftly. A state-of-the-art SSU command and control bus will monitor the law-and-order situation in real time, enhancing situational awareness.
Stringent measures include a complete ban on CNG cylinders and drones within the stadium premises to mitigate risks. Officials pledge to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere, ensuring all guests enjoy a positive, secure experience at the event. Spectators are urged to comply with security protocols and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
