India’s rising cricket star Shubman Gill has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2025, outshining Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips to claim the prestigious award. Gill’s exceptional form during India’s tour of England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 earned him the accolade.
The 24-year-old amassed an impressive 406 runs across five one-day internationals in February, boasting an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of 94.19. His stellar performances were pivotal in India’s dominant 3-0 ODI series win against England. Gill kicked off the series with a composed 87 in Nagpur, followed by a steady 60 in Cuttack. He then sealed the triumph in Ahmedabad with a match-winning 112 off 102 balls, featuring 14 fours and three sixes. The century earned him the Player of the Match award, and he was later named Player of the Series.
