India’s rising cricket star Shubman Gill has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2025, outshining Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips to claim the prestigious award. Gill’s exceptional form during India’s tour of England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 earned him the accolade.
The 24-year-old amassed an impressive 406 runs across five one-day internationals in February, boasting an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of 94.19. The century earned him the Player of the Match award, and he was later named Player of the Series.
Gill’s brilliance didn’t stop there. Carrying his momentum into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, he played a key role in India’s victories in their opening two matches, further solidifying his reputation as one of cricket’s brightest talents.
