In a decisive blow to insurgent activities, Pakistani security forces eliminated three militants associated with the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) during two intelligence-driven operations in Balochistan, according to a statement from the military’s media wing. The operations, conducted in Awaran and Kech districts, targeted individuals allegedly involved in destabilizing the region with foreign support.
The first operation unfolded in the Gishkur area of Awaran District, where security forces acted on credible intelligence about the presence of militants. In a fierce exchange of gunfire, one militant, identified as Younas, was killed, while two others sustained injuries. Authorities described Younas as a key operative in a network backed by external forces aiming to disrupt peace in the province.
In a parallel operation in Turbat city, Kech District, two additional BLF militants were neutralized. The individuals, identified as senior commander Sabrullah and operative Amjad Bichoo, were allegedly responsible for orchestrating attacks on security personnel and civilians. The operation yielded a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, underscoring the group’s violent intent.
Security officials emphasized that both Sabrullah and Bichoo had been involved in a string of terrorist activities, including targeted killings and assaults on law enforcement. Their elimination marks a significant setback for the BLF, which authorities claim operates as a proxy for foreign entities seeking to undermine Balochistan’s stability.
Following the operations, security forces launched sanitization efforts to secure the areas and prevent any residual militant activity. The military reiterated its commitment to countering external attempts to destabilize the region, stating, “Pakistan’s security forces stand united with the nation in their resolve to protect Balochistan’s peace and progress from foreign-sponsored threats.”
