In a heartbreaking incident, a 24-year-old fast bowler, Aleem Khan, tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack during a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Challenge Cup match in Bannu on May 5, 2025.
The young athlete collapsed on the field while delivering a ball in a domestic two-day match. Despite immediate efforts to provide medical assistance, Khan was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him.
An umpire present at the match shared, “It was a shocking moment. Aleem was bowling when he suddenly fell. We acted quickly to get him help, but it was too late.”
PCB officials expressed profound grief over the loss. A spokesperson for the board stated, “The entire cricket community is devastated by Aleem’s untimely passing. We extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones during this time of immense sorrow.”
Khan, a talented cricketer from Bannu, was laid to rest in his hometown, surrounded by family and friends mourning his sudden departure.
